This may seem a bit trivial but has anyone ever rebuilt a cargo cover roll mechanisim? My cargo cover is in excellent condition except that it will not roll up on it's own. Usually I would just tear it apart till I figured out how it works and then fix it. However, as difficult as it is to find a good cargo cover for the wagoneers (and in the correct color), I will hold off on the reverse engineering through destruction.
Any assistance is appreciated.

Thanks,

I had one that would not roll up either. you could roll it up by hand, and when you let go, it would loosen up. Figured there might still be a spring in there after all. Probably was an easier way, but I slid the vinyl out of the metal drum and rolled it backward until I was a little scared of how tight I had the spring. I then jammed the drum to keep it from spinning back and wormed the vinyl back in the slot. Be careful not to tear it on the sharp corners. Put it in and there she was. Still not as tight as the one in my wifes new Suburban (we lay clothes on it when traveling), but absolutely functional. There's something to pulling the ends out when you are winding, but I can't exactly remember what the trick was.
