I got some good advice once (well actually more than once smile.gif about these jeeps from a pretty decent old time mechanic to the following effect.
"everytime you go picking round in your truck and come across wiring, examine it, inspect it, tie it down if loose, and clean the connections. Pretty soon you'll notice that a lot of the 'gremlins' which give your truck 'character' will appear to have moved on to someone else's jeep. "
