Today, just before getting word about the terrible attacks against us I read a post about how the driveshaft should be orentated to be "in phase" will some one please explain this to me. I have just replaced all u-joints from rear diff to front diff. There was no weight on the rear dr.shaft, I marked the positions of all pieces before removeing and replacing with new. I do not recall how the yokes between the xcase and r.diff were orientated. God bless the victums of todays attack.

In phase means the caps are in line, so that there is a straight line down the shaft from cap to cap, (versus the caps being 'offset') let me try to explain it different, if the U joint cap at the differential is pointed straight down, then you want the U joint cap at the tcase yoke pointed straight down also... Make sense?

if you took the slip yoke apart then you might need to worry about it... If you didn't then it should be ok (In theory, I've seen many that were outta phase for who knows what reason!)
