I am trying to find out the exact engine size in my 66 j3000. I know it is a straight 6 with a 2bbl, but i know nohing else. Manual 3 speed converted to the floor, was on the column. I am looking to sell it if anyone is interested. Needs a windshield. please help??

Should be the continental inline 6, 230 CI. I suppose it could also be the 232 inline 6, but the valve cover would tell the difference. The 230 has a very flat, wide valve cover for the overhead cam, and the 232 has a narrow valve cover with edges that ridge in and out, and it's an overhead valve engine. The 232 would have a 1 barrel carb. if stock, however. I'm not sure what carb. the 230 came with.

Should be a one barrel 232 OHV motor in 66 but the truck could have been built in 65 and sold as a 66 so it could have a 230 OHC motor. As Jason said the 230 OHC motor has a unique alum valve cover with a neoprene gasket all around it unlike a conventional OHV I6 tin cover. The eng code on a 230 is at the right/front/low of the block below the fuel pump and at the right/center/high of the block just below the head on a 232.

Oh Jason, the 230 OHC motor is a Kaiser motor not a Continental. ;)

Asking 600 dollars for it, considering it needs a windshield. I found one for 130.00. I am currently in the process on putting in a n electric bench seat from a 79 lincoln. Got in in okay, but the wiring is turning out to be harder that i thought. I will try to get a picture up in the next day or so.
