Quick heater switch question...

This should be a quick one...

When the vacuum switch for heat/defrost on my 79 waggy is in the off position, it leaks (or sucks really). It works fine otherwise. The question is if that is normal? If not, is that vacuum leak going to hurt anything?

Nope not normal, would not hurt anything, other than being annoying. You could pull it apart and clean it then coat the mating surfaces with Vaseline. It is the same style switch as the Q-Trac E-Drive switch. The heater switch is a bit different but not by much. Here is a step by step for the Q-Trac I did awhile back.
