Front Axle for J4000

I cracked my front Axel housing (military style) at the chunk on my 73 J4000 pickup with Quadratrac. I am ready to buy a complete parts jeep pickup (probably a 74)for replacement, but it didn't have quadratrac. How can I tell if the front differentail axle ratios will be the same? I don't want to buy it if it won't work.

usually it says it on a little tag bolted on the diff plate between two of the bolts on the edge.
