I just got a 89 GW overhead console. I mapped out the wires so I know what wires go where on the console, but i dont know what those wires do i.e. what is power, compass, etc. Does anyone have a diagram? Maybe one that shows where the wires start from (temp sensor to console etc)? Any help would be great! Thanks

all I got is what is in the 91 shop manual ,elect diagrams, I must say I HATE SHOP MANUAL DIAGRAMS!, they just don't make alot of sense to me, but I could scan it.. if you want and post them up on my site...
would be somethin anyway?
let me know...

Allen I just installed an overhead console in my '88.All I'm using are the lights for overhead entry,bypassed the circuit boards for now and have them wired directly to the feed.I saw posted on here of an update kit availible from the dealer that comes with new lights and harness.I'm using a map light mirror out of GM(it's a Donnelly).I got a wiring diagram for mine from Jeep Publications(1-800-544-3313).It's excellent detail.I think they had diagrams up to '91s.It only cost $8.00 plus $4.00 shipping. smile.gif

That would be great Kel if you could do that!I know can wire the lights without the diagram(like coolram did), but I do need to know about the other wires so I can wire up the temp sensor etc.....

mccullough,Thankyou so much.It does help a lot, but I think that'll be a next time job to wire up the module besides i think my light circuit boards are bad.Like I said earlier,wired the light sockets directly so they come on with door switchs or dash switch and wired a map light mirror out of a GM.Actually that works pretty neat the way liht is aimed.The light in my wife's Capri gave me the idea to use one.
