78 wag soa front driveshaft angle

I did an SOA on my 78 wag and a week later blew the center pin out of the doble cardan joint on my front driveshaft. i was told before the soa (while getting the shaft lengthened 2'' in anticipation of the lift) that the pin was worn and should be replaced. What i want to know is... is the angle of the driveline too steep for that silly double cardan joint with the stock transfer case position, oh yeah i angled up the front pinion about 2 or 3 degrees past stock.
