A/C Unit (Incl. compressor, motor,dryer)

Hi!
Does anyone know whether an A/C Unit (Incl. compressor, motor,dryer etc.) from a 1989 Jeep GW will fit my 1985 Jeep Grand Wagoneer (I think I have factory installed A/C)?
2)Are there any particular questions I should ask the seller (other than that its working!!)

I have a chance to get a used one at a very decent price!!

You should be able to to the swap with little trouble.Your '85 should have the a/c-heat controls next to the radio like the '89.I'm not sure if wiring harness will be the same.Color coding might be different(only a factory wiring diagram or someone else here probably knows).Everything else mounts in the same location.The '89 uses a different compressor than your '85 is the only real difference.

the problem on geting this things used is that sometimes they don't last any long why well first u whon't know how the compressor is perfoming until u run it the compressor is like an engine if it has several time park it isally gets lockt, the compressor since it is from an 80's it is running on r12 (are u going to run this gas$$$) the dryer is a moisture desicant and is not recomended to use after out desconect the lines it gets contaminated so my advice will be to get them new and run 134 gas on them just install an extra fan on the front of the condencer because 134 runs at higher pressures than 12

My '85 has the controls down on the A/C ducting, while my '89 has them up next to the radio with the heater controls. I think you may be out of luck.
