Problem noise

I have an 80 j20 360 v8,every time i hit the accelerator it makes a high pitched squealing noise it only does this when running and not when you hit the gas when parked and i can not figure it out,it also happens when turning sometimes.I checked the belts,vacuum leaks,greased the joints.??Any thoughts would be appreciated.Thanks Joe :confused:

Well joe, I know you said you checked the belts, just make sure they aren't glazed(shinney on the running surface). The only reason I say that is mine does the same thing, only when I have all my lights on (onroad and off road) when my current draw is teh highest. For the longest time I figured it to be the alt. going. I now found that it is teh belt(although very tight) it is glazed and under load(like yours when turning the wheel) it sqeals. Just a thought.

GET A CAN OF BELT SPRAY.... AND SPRAY THE BELTS....IF IT STOPS IT'S THE BELTS OR BELT....BUT I THINK IT'S A BELT OR MICE :D :D IF IT'S MICE GET A CAT!!!!....... ...ME!!! smile.gif smile.gif
