My GW has always been a little quirky in park - occasionally I would have to hold up the gear shift to hold park and start. If I didn't make sure it was all the way up it wouldn't even try to start. Now it is stranded at a kwik shop and as hard as I push up on the selector it wont do a thing. It will not do anything in neutral either. Does anyone know what the problem is and most important - how to fix it? Thanks for your help

You could have a bad neutral safety switch.

my GW is an '88 / where is the neutral safety switch? would that keep it from starting in neutral as well?

you could also jump across the starter wires to start it to get it home.............
