87 Wagoneer question

What is the yellow control box located under the center dash? It is marked with AMC logo but I can't figure out what this item does. Its about 4x6 inches rectangular and is centered on the dash but down on the floor.

That'd be the cruise control brain. Carefull ya don't ruin the OEM AMC duct tape that holds it in...it's priceless. ;)
