I need to drill a hole in my 83 Wagoneer's roof so that I can run a CB Antenna cable through it. (I won't just run the cable through the door, I want it to be permanent and to look good)

So I was just going to drill the hole and then fill it with silicon once the cable is through; but before I take this route I was wondering if anyone had a cleaner method for plugging up the hole.

Does anyone know of any cool tricks for plugging a roof hole with a coax cable through it? Is there something that is nicer than a pile of silicon goop: Perhaps some sort of rubber bung or something? (Oh, and not one of those "wireless" magnetic connectors; I want to keep my wire in one piece).

well if you run a regular CB antenna, the cable will come down inside it, so it's the antenna that attaches to the roof. If you use rubber washers, they'll seal nicely...

Have you looked around at the grommet section at the hardware or parts store? If you get a nice rubber grommet, it should work nice with a little silicone to touch it up.
