Above my ATF pan, drivers side, is an electrical connector - i'm guessing for reverse. It's a plastic housing that swivels in a hole and belches ATF.
How does this come out so I can fix it? It's very loose with lots of play.

This is for your kickdown switch. I am assuming you have a TH400. You must remove the pan to unhook the connector. It is held in with two plastic ancors on either side and is sealed with an o-ring.

I guess I have to drop the pan to do the seal around the dip stick?

No. The tube comes out the top and there is either an o-ring around the tube or a rubber boot that goes into the case.

That's encouraging! Is the dip stick attached with a clip, screw, or just 'thrust into the hole?? Thanks Chevelleguy for this!

Held in by one of the trans to engine bolts. Anytime.
