My question is what is the original transfer case in my -83 Wagoneer Limited, is it NP 229???

No locking front hubs?? Then it is a 229.

look at the front diff if it has a thing looking like a GIANT vaccum advance off a dist
its a 229 good case (i got one) if not it
is prob a 208 or I have seen a 228 in an 83 but i am sure it was swapped in :eek:
