I've tried 3 things and they work most of the time.

First, clean them all off with a Coke - seriously. Baking soda will help. RInse it off well.

Once they're really clean, dry it off well and get you some of those ugly red and green felt pads. I don't believe in them, but they do create a nice seal and spacer bewtween the battery case and the connector which keeps corrosion from building up underneath and you not knowing about it.
Put tiny bit of vaseline on the posts and tighten. Really clean posts and terminals to start tend to stay clean. I try to un-seat and reseat the terminals every 6 months or so.

On my GW, I use those red and green felt pads as well; instead of vaseline, though, I use dielectric grease and the red and black rubber boots over the terminals.

I converted my Cherokee to a side-terminal battery, so this is less of a problem on it.
