I need another cam gear for my 360, if you have one. The one you sent me a couple of months ago is all chewed up again. But I think I figured out why this keeps happening. Read my other post, about this, and let me know what you think. But I do need the cam gear, so shoot me an email, and let me know if you have one. Thanks, Dennis

Cool, Thanks. I plan on trying to get this dued back together soon! I hate not having my truck! Dennis
Because you can't just replace the cam gear. The distributor gear and cam gear MUST be replaced together. USUALLY the cam gear eats the distributor gear, but either way mismatching sets tends to cause failure.

RWCCould be true. I don't know I have replaced quite a few distributors without pulling Cam Gear, and put new cams and gears in without changing distributor gear. No failures as of yet. I think if that were the case the gears would be sold as a set.
The other theory that I've heard is that you can only get away with switching gears independently when you're using factory gears; supposedly the factory distributor gears were very strong and machined very well, while none of the aftermarket gears have come up to that standard.
