Intake question for the 258

I put on a newer intake, I think it is from 82 or up, and there are 2 spots for hoses, one on the front of the intake and 1 on the back. What are these for? Thanks for the help.

The forward one goes to the thermostat housing and the aft one prolly goes to the heater core.
