I have a 64 J300 and a 83 (typo'ed in my last post) WT cherokee that I want to swap axles from the cherokee to my gladiator. The pumpkin being on the wrong side to work with the T case (D20) in the truck, can a NP208 be attached to a T-89 tranny?

not without an adapter. D20s are compatible with Borg Warner Quadra Tracs, but that won't do you much good. D300s are compatible with NP t-cases, bummer.

Maybe you can rig a Bronco D20 to bolt up. I don't know if the lug pattern is the same or not, but swapping input shafts is pretty certain. The Ford model has a driver's output and lower low-range gearing

D20's are not compatable with BW1339 (QT's)... you must swap the TH400 tailshaft and use a different adapter plate....then you have to ensure the D20 was from an auto..if not... you have to change the input gear to make it work with the TH400... I've done this to my 78
