View Full Version : E-brake after a lift Q.
Lifted back 4" (front to follow) and my e-brake cable looks alittle tight. Any one else? EZ fix or disconnet? Thanks, Dean.

I think a longer cable would be your only solution. You can get a cable repair kit and splice in a few extra inches to each side. but to get to the driver's side cable can be a pain because the gas tank skid plate is in the way.
It might be easier to figure out a way to add cables a few inches long into each side, at the front of botht the right and left cables, where the transverse cable connects to them. You'd have to use the same kind of kit, maybe even extra cable brackets.

I noticed the setup under my commanche yesterday, and I imagine all xj's are probably like this. But they have a bracket that basically is a Y. one cable in two out. seems a lot nicer than the big suspension bridge theory on the fsj's.. Ive been thinking about repairing mine too as it is rusted dead. mabye adapt one of those or make one like it. and it would allow a little better control and routing. I was thinking of a really heavy jacketed cable like a realy thick clutch cable or something from the bracket back to the wheels, and the orig front part could pull it. Anyone out there ever hook up an other than stock setup on these?
