Last night was trying to fix some of my electric lock/window gremlins, and did a very stupid thing! I had pulled the wiring connector off the switch on the pass/front to clean the contacts, then decided to make the connection "tighter" so opened the connector. As you can imagine, wires all fell out, and I didn't make note of which color went where! ARRRRRRRRGGGGTGH.
My Haynes manual does not show the same wire colors as I find in my door. (BIG shock huh?) Does anyone have an OEM wiring diagram that could help me out? JUST the door lock part. OR know where I can get my own OEM wiring manual, or both? Thanks in Advance!
The wire colors I have are:
Red w/white as power.
Blue and Brown to solenoid.
Gray and Pink presumably to driver switch.

After taking a magnifying glass to the wiring diagram in my Chilton's and reading the Hayne's diagram, I think this is how it should be.
red/wht=Red (+)
gray=wht (down)
pink=grn (up)
Just remember that as long as you have the power in correct and you have two wires running to the motor, the worst that you can do is wire it backwards. But, you should be able to a) look at the driver's side motor, that will tell you where the motor leads go b) have a helper switch the driver's side switch up/down and see which wire recieves power when that switch is in each position (remember that both wires act alternately as hot/ground) that will tell you which is up/down c)e-mail me if this doesn't work and I will tear into mine tomorrow and let you know how it is hooked up.

I've got this EXACT problem with my other half's XJ... anyone have the wiring for that? Driver's Rear Door, Electric Window Motor switch. Has the 6-prong like our PW and tailgate has, but colors of wires are different.

I haven't been able to find a factory wiring diagram. there is not one in either of my service manuals. I have a set for 85 and also a later version thru 88.
I found a Mitchell Electrical Repair for Domestic Light Trucks and Vans, which includes the GW, on Ebay today and I bought it. There is suposed to be a diagram in the book.
If worse comes to curse, email me and I'll scan it for you
