Does a 72 amc 360 have an ignition ballast resistor on it? Getting ready to install the pertronix tomorrow

I put a ballast reister just before the coil on my 75 with a pertronix electronic ignition. Oneof the PO's kinda hacked up the ignition system. So I had to redo it. Although I am not sure on the 72 model, but if it ussed the same ignition as my 75, then it may be a safe bet to assume yes. Maby somebody here will know 100%.

Points require a ballast resistor, so your '72 will have one. The resistor reduces the 12-14 volts down to 6-9 volts so the points don't burn. If the Pertronix is like a HEI, it will require a full 12 volts, thus you will need to bypass the ballast resistor. An easy way to do this is by hooking the wire at one end of the resistor to the terminal at the other end of the resistor where the other wire is. If the Pertronix requires the ballast resistor to reduce voltage, then please disregard this.
