The question is- will a 360 out of a 85 GWAG fit into my 73 j 4000 without throwing to much of a fit?Is there going to be an adapter thing going on?Thanks everyone for your help

If you are running the TH400 you will need the flexplate from the 73, and don't forget the pilot buching. If you are running a manual trans, of course you will need the flywheel from the 73.It's easiest if you are replacing a 360.

My 73 had the adapter ring between the trans (TH400) and the engine. You will need to have this to hook up the engine to the tranny. '74 was the first year they went to the AMC-pattern TH400.
