hey guys... i got a solution for all full sizers... replace master cylinder by a DODGE RAM 2500 (1995 4x2) master cylinder. You can find it at AutoZone for 45 bucks... and it fits straight away (for 1981 and up). For elder models, you also have to change brake vacum feeder. Whats great about this conversion is that the lines are exactly the same, just gotta reverse them, the bolts, nuts and holes are also the same,... what do you want more... and best of all... IT BRAKES... (i can make my 37x12.5x15 tires block and grins on the pavement!!!) enjoy the tip! daniel

you got an 82? mine is also 82' so there should be no problems! i meant that i could block my wheels, when braking hard enough... try doing that with 37" tires... you'll see that it's not easy with original braking system...

Glad you asked about the flares. They are the sportside option fenders on the J 10 pickups. All you need is to find a J 10 sportside and you got 'em. (They're not easy to find, I looked for months)

So its not possible to find them from say Jeep, or an aftermarket manufacturer? if not, looks like I'll be goin to the junkyard. I love those flares!

J10 could you possibly mean "lock up" your wheels as in skidding those 37"ers? I think it's the block thing throwing us off or maybe it's just me :D

come on guys... i feel like in my english class back in highschool! you got it right, locking up is the right term. cory, how about your truck?? any pictures??? yeah, the sportside was only produced from end of 80 to end of 82. there were 1264 of them made worldwide, and i don't think that there are too many of them around anymore. but i'm sure you can manage to find a good one, especially back in the states!!! you're lucky to live out there; so many jeeps!!! i had to get mine back from arizona, a year ago (shipping in a container, on the boat, ...). around here, in europe, there are probably two or three of them, that's all! anyway, consider the braking part, its a good tip! see you around, daniel

So what exactly makes the Ram master cylinder work so well? Is it just a bigger bore or something? Ok to use with stock brakes?

Just put the J20 booster on my wag. What else do you have to do to get it to work on a 1980 Wag? (you mentioned brake vacuum feeder?)

Daniel, Did not mean it bad, thats just something we say down south when we don't understand. Was not ment to offend. BTW sweet truck, what is your plans sell, keep forever??? Is that your source of income (Resto of Jeeps or American cars).

back to the brakes... Why is it a solution? Is the Ram master cylinder a performance improvement, or a cost savings due to current production compared to our dated type and part number? Or some else? If worthy, you could add this under tech tips...
