How do I pull the bulkhead connector for the main wiring harness?

Is there a screw/bolt that runs through the center? Is it twist and pull? push and twist? pry back the plastic prongs with a screwdriver? what?

I need to run a lead from the connector (terminal F1) to the rear window washer bottle.

Do the individual leads plug into the connector (which then mates with the firewall connector) or are they soldered in?

If a lead has broken off, what's the best way to fix it?

What's the best way to avoid breaking any more leads when I pull the connector?

Shouldn't I just leave the **** thing alone?

There is a 3/8" bolt in the center of it on the engine-side of the firewall. Unbolt that, remove it, and you should be able to wiggle the bulkhead connector free. The fusebox is held by two bolts and then the plastic arms on it grab onto the other side of the bulkhead, so that's a bit more complicated to disconnect.

The terminals in the bulkhead are larger versions of the regular GM type-56 terminals. They can be released by depressing the snap pin (on the female side) or bending in the shorter leg (on the male side).

There are a few open spaces in the bulkhead, if you ever want to add another wire passing through.
