has anyone ever seen a t14 in a jtruck? the tsm shows it as the only available tranny for a j2500 with the 258. i didnt look when i had it out, now i am wondering. Did this ever happen, or am i reading the chart wrong?

Yeh, somewhere in the early 70s, they supposedly used T14s before the T15s in J-trucks. I've seen in noted in listings, and did look at a '72-74/78(god knows what else)hybrid(think main parts were 72/74 ish), and gather that was a T14 as it was a 3 speed.

I think, but could be mistaken, they are fairly similar to T15s, just used in models before like 75 or so when T15s took over.

I think the T-14 is a T-15, with no first gear synchro (not that the t-15 has good synchro's to begin with), but otherwise, no difference to amount to much.

It was used in the trucks till some time in the mid-70's at least but only in the 258/5000 GVWR trucks. The 360/5000 GVWR used the T-15A as did all the 6000 and 7000 GVWR trucks regardless of motor.
