There were a couple of people who had acess to them, if I remeber I'll let you know.
What's wrong w/ yours?
I have rebuilt mine and it is working fine. Wasn't hard to do took about an hour, some solder and a small screwdriver.
I had to get it fixed. My wife kept passing out whenever I had the back window down. She said the fumes made her "drowsy". But the real prob was she kept hittin her head on the side window, man I was afriad she was going to break it, with her head being so large and pointy and all. LOL

well it's nice to know I'm not the only guy that has to worry about a cloud of fumes that can pass as a biohazzard.

Yeah,
I was thinking of replacing the wood w/ a caution sign that says "STAND BACK 50 FEET" and then on the tailgate I can put " This vehicle contains chemicals known to the entire world to produce cancer..."

I just went through the "rear window bullS***" myself, so I know what you are going through. First off, make sure it's the dash switch that is bad. (there are 3 switches that need to be working in order for the window to work) When my window would not operate from the dash, I assumed it was the dash switch. (multi-meter check of the switch proved otherwise). Replaced the relay in the tailgate only to find out later that it was the key switch in the tailgate. (the toughest one to get too of course) Don't know about the dash switch, but my local Chrysler dealer was able to order me the tailgat switch. More than I wanted to pay, but....if you need it, you need it. And none of the local parts stores stocked it.

How do you access the tailgate switch? It has some wierd torx type screws, but they have a little pin in them that prevents the torx socket to fit in there. My switch has been broken since I got the truck...its wierd because the dash one still works.

That fastener is call tamper proof torx. You should be able to get sockets from Sears, Snap-On, Mac, and maybe Checker, Auto Zone and others.

Those are security torx bits; you can buy them at a place like Pep-boys or maybe at an electronics store.
Unfortunately, once you get that cover off, you won't have access to the switch. That requires removing the tailgate carpeting, the tailgate access panel, the tailgate glass, and the tailgate window regulator/motor. It is a major two-person PITA.
Good luck!

I would start at the rear t/g switch. That's where mine went bad and it seems real common. The problem is,when that switch starts to get loose, it makes the front one stop working. Taking apart the rear T/G is a PITA, so if you can swing the $120.00 a re-built motor is a good idea (that is in addition to the $50-$60 for the switch). Oh, and don't forget new window clips (2x$2-$4) and maybe track (I haven't had a track prob yet, but they are common also). I know that sounds pretty major financially, but the fewer times you have to tear into your gate, the better as far as I am concerned.
I hope that helps.

Hello,
The reason why I think it's the switch is that it only works going down. The day it stopped working going up, the switch started not to feel right in the up position.
Please email me your address and I'll send you the money.
Thanks smile.gif

Yup I do. I had picked up the chrome stip last weekend, somehow the 45 mile trip from the shop to the house I lost it!!! However I was out there yesterday and got another and it made the trip. The chrome is decent but not perfect. (minor dents) I also have a switch for you as well. $15.00 for the switch and chrome strip shipped.
