hey body guys,should I wax or glaze it?

I have a buddy of mine that tells me a paint job will last longer if I use hand glaze instead of waxing.Have ya heard of this? I bought 3M hand glaze and used it IT LOOKS AWSOME!.But i wonder if it will protect like wax?
Also his reasoning is that the wax doesnt let the paint breath???sounds weird.If you think i should use wax than can ya tell me what hand glaze is for?
