I am staging myself now to pull front & rear axles on my 88 GW, do some work on them, and swap 'em back in.
While they are out, I would like to convert the bushings in the sway bar, leaf eyes, and track bar to poly bushings. Would anyone know of a "kit" for the GW? Does another vehicle work (CJ7? YJ? XJ?).
Also, same for the shackles. I don't know how well they will fair with me trying to get the springs off, so it would be prudent to have a set of shackles on hand. What are you all replacing your shackles with.

Had the poly and went back to rubber...they didn't like water too much and wnet thru alot of lube on the bushings to try the reduce the squeek...IT DROVE ME NUTS!!!
Anyway...www.daystarproducts.com has what yo u're looking for... not in a kit though
Jsut a side note... I checked with my local dealer here about 6 months ago... complete, assembled shackles (with bushings) are stil in the system for about $33...FYI

I just installed Energy Suspension poly swaybar and endlink bushings two days ago, and I highly recommend this. Part numbers are 9-5161 for the swaybar bushings and 9-8107 for the endlink bushings. Prices at Jegs of Summit are $14.99 for the greasable swaybar set, and $3.69 (x2) for the endlink set.
As for the leaf spring bushings, you'll probably be much happier with rubber than poly. Even when greased, the poly bushings will squeek a bit like RiverBeast said. But another big reason is the more comfortable ride you'll get with rubber bushings, which are much more pliable than poly. You can get new rubber bushings at any auto parts store, or go to www.espo.com. (http://www.espo.com.)
The general rule that I follow for both comfortable ride and good handling,is that you use rubber bushings on the springs and poly bushings for anything else such as sway bars, endlinks, track bars, and tie rod ends.
