I know this subject about seat swaps and options has been beat to death.
I have run across some AMC Pacer buckets that look pretty good. I know at sometime, someone on this board had said they had used them in their FSJ. I could not find the thread with a search. If that person that used the Pacer buckets and reads this post, can tell me specifically if they were a bolt in before I pull them from the junker?
I would like to have some insight on how much effort would be required to use these seats.
Thanks.

Not done it myself, but by measuring the mounting locations you'll quickly have an idea. Also have some idea of the height since it would be a lousy trade if you couldn't see over the dash. With any luck 2 of the mounting bolts would be used (per seat) and the other two could be drilled (very easy) and either an oversize washer or a simple backing plate (maybe 3"x 3") would be adequate. Remember that in the event of a wreck your seatbelts are cab mounted so the seat mounts aren't really to restrain the passenger.

I'm having flashbacks to Wayne's world. Where was the Pacer, at a Circle K? I would just get the whole Pacer and drive it around, just to piss everyone off!!
I think maybe what you wanted to know specifically, is if the AMC style seats have a similar bolt pattern to your (AMC) Jeep. First, remember if you have a bench seat, you won't have the inner two pairs of seat studs. I haven't done a comparison, but the seats Jeeps used (buckets) looked very similar to some seats AMC used in their cars. It is possible that the seats themselves would mount up to similar Jeep seats brackets, although surely the brackets themselves would be different.
All in all, you could surely make it work, the question is, how much fabrication do you want to have to do.

I have the seats from an Olds in my Chero, the previous owner put them in, using a homemade frame to put the seat up to proper height, it's ugly but it works, if the Pacer seats are too short, just use the prpoer size channel iron to lift them up a bit.
