The radio is almost out, but the defroster duct housing prevents it from dropping down.
Directly in back, the wiper linkage is in the way. Has anyone been through this?
(yes, I'm saving the radio - just wanted to see if I could clean it up and get the cassette to work)
TIA

It's an 85 GW right? Did they change the dash between 85 and 87 (and if so, why then)? Mine pulls right out...

Yup 85 was different has to go out the back, the 87 will come out the front. Its a tough wiggle and wrestle but it does come out. ;)

OK. Its out. Scrunched doen on the defroster plastic (its pretty flexible) and then worked left to the ash tray location and then pulled the dash a little.

Thanks. I cleaned it, and just maybe, the cassette will work when I put it back.

Did you put a new rubber band in it while you had it out?

Thanks Andy, Travler,
I fixed the instrument cluster, and got the speakers to work, but didn't get the cassette to work. Still felt pretty good. I just cleaned the radio/cassette up the best I could -it's the Electronic model, but the some of the inside was real dirty.

I stopped checking in regularly when I started working in NJ afew months back, and at the same time had problems with my PC, plus, the board was very slow with Netscape, at best. Seems much better now. My car needs work, (as does the house) but the jeep keeps ticking right along, which has been very good.
