Here is what I want to do. I want to get a military chevy truck called the cucv. The M1028 is a 1.8 ton pickup. Yep I did type in 1.8 ton. It has the Dana 60 upfront and the GM 14 in the rear. It also has 4.56 gears AND factory detroit lockers in the the rear and front! The TH400 tranny is a heavy Duty build up. The transfer is also heavy duty (I think it is a NP208?). The engine is the 6.2 Liter diesel that gets about 20 mpg. The electical system is a 24 volt system but all of the accesories are stepped down to 12 volt. So what do you guys think? The diesel is a torque monster and plus the mpg is almost doubled.

Hello,
Try doing a search using "diesel" as the keyword. I believe there was a 6.5/6.2L thread at some time (I started it smile.gif )
I'm considering a 6.5L myself...
Good luck.

Go for the diesel!! One of the best swaps you can make with an FSJ. Talk to FSJeeper he's the man when it comes to this stuff. When money permits I will do the diesel swap with my J20. Probably a Detroit diesel or 6.2,6.5. Oh and there are many previous threads on the diesel swap.
