Hi everyone. I'm told by my garage I need a new flywheel. Also maybe a motor mount (the engine is tipped). They aren't sure if it's the right trans. either. I think it is, they just aren't JEEP people. It's a 76 J-10, with a 258/6, and a Turbo 400. Does that sound like the right trans. I want to do it myself, but if it's not the right one... now would be the time to swap eh? Thanx Jim

it all depends... the earlier TH400's (72's for exapmle) used an adapter plate with a flywheel spacer... the new TH400's were a Jeep specific bolt pattern for AMC's . Are you running a Dana 20 T-case? If so... the TH400 is the right one or for the Quadratrac it is also correct.

Yea, I was told it came from the factory with Quadratrack, but someone put in a Dana 20, and Dana 44 front axle with lockout hubs. You can see the remains of the vacume hose behind the glove box, and the hole in the floor for the shifter is definately NOT factory. But everything works. Thanx again. Jim
