what year wagoneers came with dana 44s front and rear?models?thanks in advance with your help.
1974-1979, Late 1986-1991. All from 74 up have D44 front's but 80 and up have the diff on the drivers side where the pre-80 are pass side diffs. The 74-79 D44 rears are offset to the pass side and the late 86+ are centered diff D44's.

by the way you wouldn't know the width of the axles would you or anyone else who reads this post. thanks again for all your help i'm new to the all wagoneer experience.
wagoneers, narrow track cherokees are ~58" wms (wheel mounting surface) to wms
and wide track cherokees are ~62-63" wms to wms
and 8 lug J-20 axles are probably ~67" wms to wms
someone will chime in with the right answer, but these guestimates are close..
let me take a stab at your motives.. are you stealing axles from full-size jeeps for a little jeep? if that's the case, let us know what you're looking for and we might be able to better help you... :D

i have a '97 grand cherokee and i want to swap the axles out of a wagoneer into that. But if i can find a wagoneer cheap enough i'll keep the wagoneer and thow some dana 60s under it and make a mud runner.

Check out off-road.com's Jeep Tech:
http://www.off-road.com/jeep/tech/axle/d44.html
It lists when they were used. Be careful though, some years of FSJs (forget which ones) had a vacuum disconnect in the front.
