the temp and fuel gauges on my truck always read low, I dont know if the oil pressure gauge does or not but it reads high enough that im happy(fresh engine with 5000km on it now, read 40psi whenever its above 7-800 rpm, at idle when warm it sits at 20ish). anywho my fuel gauge reads at least 1/8 of a tank low(which really isn't a problem as ive figured out the error in it and can think around it), but the temp gauge NEVER goes into the green middle section of the gauge even if when I boiled it over when I had a bad rad with bad rad cap(no pressure build up at all), takes a good 10 minutes of driving before it even gets to where stone cold on the gauge is suppose to be. I know it probally runs a bit cold as its a 6cyl with a 3core V8 rad infront of it but I have a 195 t-stat in it so it does get warm when im pushing it. any ideas on getting my gauges to work properly though?
Buy new VDO or AutoMeter gauges. Stock FSJ gauges are for entertainment only.

Thermostat guage.....I'd consider replacing your Coolant Temp Sensor (Thermostat Temp Sensor). You can get it at Advance Auto Parts for around $7.00. If you don't know where it is, look to the driver's side of the thermostat housing, and there is a small threaded rod attached to a bolt that is screwed into the intake.
FYI, if you change this, make sure to drain out about 3-4 quarts of coolant, as when you remove the sensor, coolant will flow onto your intake.

thats already been changed, it died completly a few months ago so needed replacement and once again I got the same readinds after. and its not where you say it is. if you read what I posted I did say 6cylinder, its at the back of the cylinder head on drivers side. if it was only the temp gauge I would not bother and just put in a real gauge but id like the fuel gauge to read correctly

Ha, I drive a 98 Jeep and those guages all suck... Go all aftermarked if you can.

Guages I don't need NO stinking guages.
Go aftermarket. Either that or your vision will go bad and you will be wearing glasses or buying a new set of eye glasses quite often.
Good Luck

Hey Crazy, guess I missed that part about it being a 6 cyl. And yeah, if it's a 6cyl., then of course it wouldn't be where I said it was, as I was referring to the 360 V8 location. Good luck with fixing your problems.

The temp gauge has the voltage regulator for the gauges built in; if it's not workin right, the readings for the other two gauges will be off as well as the temp.
