A lot of us here have had good luck with the Summit K8600. I have over 6k miles on my rebuilt 360 and love the low end grunt and response.

I've got the K8600 as well, and concur that it works well. Can't beat the value pricing, either. I've got torque from idle on up, and HP to boot. (Okay, I understand the torque/HP relationship, but you know what I mean.)
I'm happy with it.
Basic specs on the K8600:
@ .050, 214° intake, 224° exhaust, lobe separation 114° (if I remember correctly. Maybe it was 112°.) Lift just under .500.

Anyone run the comp cams XE series in an amc motor. I ran a XE268h in a chevy 327. I was amazed at the torque that little motor had with that cam. It was lopey due to the 110 LSA but did not have the top end I would have expected. Has a very agressive lobe profile for a hydraulic cam, enough so to make the lifters sound like a solid cam. Seat duration is 268 degrees and the duration at .050 is (I think) 230 0r 236 degrees on intake. I think they are ground to mimick a roller profile as much as possible.
i had a full rebuild with the summit cam and love the low end power. it is a good cam. i seem to go flat right at 60 mph but i think that is due to a poor running 2bbl and some vac problems. i think the consensus of the users was good overall, though too smalll for the 401

I run the High Energy Competition Cams .268 HYD. and related components and have been very happy with this cam. I also like Engle cams. This is all I have run in all my motors thus far.
The engle(solid) was in a 327 chevy.
HE CC in a AMC 360.
Good luck with your selection

Does anyone have specs on the Summit K8600? I looked on the Summit web site. All I see is base specs, I want valve lift, lobe separation and measurements @ .050, etc ....
