I solved the problem with my headers not bolting up flush.I installed the side with the heat riser completely, with the drivers side disconnected. Then, I used a floor jack to push in the center of the Y-pipe(gently), installed the bolts and tightened up the other side.I don't know if any of you had this problem, but hopefully it will help someone in the future. P.S. to Jasonthomasfrance-I haven't had to remove the oil pan since I just installed them today, but by looking at it I can see where the issue would be,but you would just have to remove the Y-pipe no?

Glad it worked out for you. Wish I had the money for a set of long tube headers. I wouldent ever bother with shorties myself as they dont accomplish as much. The factory manifolds that I have are a lot like the ford hi-po manifolds in the 60's. I like em.

Do you notice much of a differance?

I was looking at mine and maybe my pan is deeper then stock? Because the y-pipe edge is just a little too much under the pan... *sigh*
