Consensus seems to be:
-- Spicer for the u-joint spiders
-- Timkin for bearings
But is there a recommended manuf. for ball joints?
Anything else I should replace while in there?

I went with the factory Dana/Spicer joints. The originals lasted 120K with many, many miles of washboard and other abusive use.

I would say any quality brand part will work. In all my years of owning FSJs I have only seen one bad ball joint! Oh BTW I worked on front ends for years and they almost never go bad. Jeeps seem to be easy on front end parts as long as they are not all off road rigs. And as far as that goes, they will last longer in a jeep than any ford/chevy/dodge. Thats just my 2 cents!

I've bought three sets now from www.jeepdoc.com. (http://www.jeepdoc.com.) I think they were all Moog but am not sure. Price was good, and so were the ball joints.
