I have some rust traveling up behind one of the faux wood grain panels on a 91 GW. Do these panels come off by removing the little plastic pulgs in the border? Can anyone shed some light  ? TIA

Hi Ya:
Yes, go to the hardware and purchase a "self snapping" center punch (its one you don't have to hit with a hammer as it is spring-loaded).
Start with an easy to reach place like the front fenders, reach behind the trim, press the punch till it snaps. First snap the little dowel will pop out in your hand. Second or third snap the rivet holding the trim on will pop out in your hand. The rivet and dowel are both reusable so save them. The rivet is not like a pop rivet, it is not deformed.
If you want to replace the woodgran decal, here is the link to a source with excellent instructions for installation of the new material (link to instructions are at the very bottome of the page).

Thanks for the info. I don't have a FSM for this GW yet. I just picked it up recently and I am redoing the motor as well as going over the entire body and frame. Original owner had a coolant hose break and kept on driving until the car died and wouldn't go anymore. So I am learning as I go with this one. I have worked on my other cars 79 Nova, 90 Turbo Grand Prix and 95 Chevy Impala SS (still have this one) pretty extensively but I am not familiar with Jeeps (but I will learn). Thanks again!!!

Just a thought instead of replacing with stock type vinyl how about camo vinyl, I've
considered this for for my truck. http://www.gregory1.com/default.htm

If your Wag is white forget the Camo. I finaly got to stop and check out a 91 Grand Wag in Milwaukee Wi. I drive by it all the time at night. So one night I was ahead of my schedule and stopped to check it out. Flash light in hand, I culd not believe how bad it looked Camo in place of the wood grain. It was a very bad clash.

Oh my, gosh almighty, that would be a serious fashion faux pas!
Then again, to each his own!

Mcbain,
Try www.sharpline.com (http://www.sharpline.com) for 3M OEM woodgrain.I believe you'll need Marine teak. That's what I got for my 87 GW. Click on:"automotive" then "woodgrain" once you at the web site. I believe the prices are better than Stripeman.
