What do you torque the bolts down at on the air injection manifold to get the holes to line up????

I had something weird happend today while driving my '87... I melted the T fitting runnning the air lines to the air injection manifold....I am not sure why...but the only thing I have done is replace the passenger side manifold....I guess I am wondering if the holes in the bolts are not lined up properly will this cause the air pump to build up heat and pressure. I am stumpped. No other problems...and it runs fine....  That is the only thing that melted....just one side of it was a ball of plastic...really weird. :(

check the check valve at the to of each air tube assy take the hoses off and start the engine and see if your getting exhaust through the check vave if the valve is bad it will send hot gasses the wrong way and distroy what isn't heat resistant that little air pump doesn't stand a chance agaist mainifold pressure...lol

there is an air gap around the bolts where they go into the manifold it doesn't matter if the holes line up or not
