Yes, the AC Condensor (sp?) can be used for trans cooler if you took off the AC hoses and such, you should hook it in line with the radiator one though.

Well, I am not sure what I am gonna do yet. I was just setting here at work kinda going back-n-forth between research in this forum and thinking about beginning my new hunt truck project. And of course, one of the first things I am gonna do is start jerkin' and throwin' all the things that are not needed on a hunting vehicle.

Like carpet, chrome bumpers, emissions, stock 2bbl carb set-up,etc. Well when I made it to A/C, I decided to save compressor for on board air, but was wondering if the Condensor could be used for something else......

Wonder which I would benefit more from, using it for engine oil or trans fluid???????

Wonder if oil would drain out of it fast enuff for it not to be a major PITA when changing oil. Shoot....wonder how much it would hold???

Just thinking while I type...

OH, BTW, project truck will be either 88GW, 86GW, 84GW, 79Wag, 81Wag. All stock right now...besides a few parts that "Harley" sure appreciated.

Have not decided yet.....they are all begging for some attention though..... smile.gif

Yes, you can use the AC condensor as a huge trans cooler, been there, done that. I don't know if it would flow enough oil (especially cold, thick oil) to work as an engine oil cooler though.
