Got an underdash a/c unit from a 78 and the fuse box is different in my 79. Can someone tell me were the blue and red wire connect coming from the a/c unit? Thanks!

I'll check in the morning when it's light outside.

Did you receive the vent peice?

The red goes to power when the key is in the "on" position to power the fan and the blue one goes from the thermostat(by the fan switch) to the compressor clutch in the engine compartment.

On my 81 there is a fuse box location for it. Unfortunatly the end melted off. Now it is crammed in there and falls out every once in a while. I picked up a relay at NAPA so that I could wire it up to the battery with an in-line fuse and use the relay from a acc switch on the fuse box (to keep from leaving the AC on all of the time).

Be cautius where you hook it up on the fuse block. The standard acc post may not be able to support the AMPS that an A/C will pull.

Help! I need to know where on the fuse box. Most of the lettering is worn off on mine.

I'm with WillE. Go get a relay and wire it in then you only have a few amps running throught the fuse box. It would be a shame to burn up the whole fuse block due to a bad choice of accessory plugs.
