Hello all I am changing my gear ratio from 272 to 354.Unfortunately there is no room in my garage to do both diffs at the same time!I am doing the rear first then the plan is to turn rig around and do front. My question is can I move the rig with the driveshafts in and running. Can I just unlock front hubs then move it?Or do I need to push the beast around?

you should be fine moving it with the front hubs in the free position and the truck in 2H, but if it is an alltime 4 wheel drive I would be sure to pull the front drive shaft.

which transfer case..... if you have part time 2 wheel drive.... no problems.... do you have a QT (borg warner 1339, even if last year was 79...) disconnect the front axle and put the emergency lockout.. or is it the np QT, a 208????

well then to be on the safe side pull the front shaft it isn't hard and should be able to do it on the driveway.

If you pull the front driveshaft, put the tcase in "Lock". Either high or low. If you don't the viscous coupling may be damaged.
The 219 should not have hubs. So, if you have hubs AND a 219, you could unlock them and lock the tcase. If you installed a part-time 208, just put it in 2HI and move the truck.
