anybody know how the Compass comes out of the console?

anybody know how the Compass comes out of the upper console?

I had all the little plastc things all undone and just had the one clip (right in the front of the compass to get...

it seems to be metal ...I din't want to break anything..especially in that rarea of the console it all dinky little plastic pieces... anyway I almost had it, the front clip(of the lights & compass ) seems to slide into the front of the console, but there's some other clip holding it and it seems to be metal...

anyway it all seemed like a one-time assembly only(pretty rinky dink)....
i was just wondering if anybody had ever removed one, if so tell me how you did it!...

i wanted to recover the whole thing(headliner)..

good question, I've had my console down many a time, but never tried to remove the compass assembly from it.

The front light assy actually holds the thing in there. Once you pull down the console, remove the front lights. I think there are two screws (maybe 4). The compass Great Googley MoogleyGreat Googley MoogleyGreat Googley Moogley'y snaps under the light Great Googley MoogleyGreat Googley MoogleyGreat Googley Moogley'y to snug it in there.

so then after the screws which I had out then, you just slide it out...
I had the screws and all other clips undone in the combo light/compass assembly ...
I was just asking ,(very poorly)if that assembly just pulls out or is there some kind of action that needs to be done to the front clip, before I pull(slide) it out, or while I'm pulling it out? I just don't want to break the outside plastic cover that is visible...
