bent axle

Well it has been a while since I have posted, but I have a problem.

I had a tire go bad, inside drivers side was worn down to the metal in about six months time.

I have the axle shaft out now and see no real problems. I see no abnormal wear in the diff either.
How can you tell if you have bent axle.

check with a large straight edge. youll need to check the housing,not the shaft itself smile.gif

Where would be the best place to run the strait edge?

Directly on top of the axle

Axle is ok, how can i see if the houseing is bent?

Sorry.."whiskey"...lay a straight edge on the top of the axle housing between the backing plate and the diff housing. And compare to the other side.
