I have this annoying squealing sound comin from my truck. It hapened after I ran my truck into a curb. Now the truck makes a squealing that follows the rps and it ony makes sound in gear. what could it be.

You ran into a curb? did you fold the front end in? I would say maybe you have belt binding up. Belts squeal if they get out alignment with the crank pulley, i.e. you push an accessory out of the way by force. In gear means underload to me, if you bent something (steering components) and the steering is binding up that would could possibly make a squeal that would follow engine RPMs.

Have you looked at your belts?, what direction is coming from. Engine? trans? Underneath you as you sit in the truck? A little more info would help.

it seems like its coming from underneath the truck. My belts look fine and if it was the belts would the sound be there all the time?

No, not from my experience. Sometimes they squeal as RPM's increase, upon starting the engine, Turning the steering wheel with the vehicle at a stand still and not enough RPMs to generate enough power in the pump to make the steering sector do it's thing. Have you looked at your front steering components? the belt may look fine but maybe something is binding your steering components. What exactly happened in the curb incident?

Well basically the engine shut off whle I was about 3/4 done with the turn. This was an electrical problem that has been fixed. Anyway the front right wheel hit the curb and broke the front leaf spring and shock arm. The driveline also hit the front of the transmission where the sheetmetal cover is making a dent in it. its squealed ever since. SO far I have installed a bj's 4in lift kit, changed the tranny filter and fluid. Put new input seals on the transfer case and new quadra track fluid. New u-joints urethane motor and transmission mounts. i have also gone from 30weight oil to 20w 50. On the plus side my tranny used to clunk into reverse and it no longer does that. Agian it has squealed ever since the accident and it comes off and on while driving. Sometimes it squeals sometimes it dosent.

Did you pull the sheet metal cover back out to it's original shape to make sure it isn't rubbing on the flexplate?

Maybe you hit hard enough to knock the drum/rotor out of alignment and it rubbing on the shoe/pads. Could also have messed up the berring in the hub if you hit hard enough.
