Just as it's says, has anyone done this, I have a 125,000 mileage 88 Grand Waggy....and I think it's time to change the filter and adjust the bands...but was wondering if Synthetic tranny fluid would be a improvement, and what brands???

I tried synthetic ATF once. Once is key word. I changed filter added new fluid. I never could get the gaskets to seal and it shifted weird. I drained the fluid, changed the filter and now it runs fine. I don't even use synthetics in my motor.

Hmm, okay that's interesting..
guess I had better make some time and drop the tranny pan and get that filter out..

I use synth tranny fluids in all my cars and have never had leaks. I have seen several folks mention more leaks with synthetic, but I have never experienved this problem. And I don't use gasket sealer on the tranny pan.

I have 'heard' stories both ways. "I've" never used syns so can't talk them down or up. I figure that its "A's & O's", everyone has one.
You could always try it and if you like/don't like it than you have your opinion about it.
Would take the advice of DuPont about teflon if it is IN the additive, tho. They do not recommend it in ANY thing with metal to metal contact. They say to use a rubber spatula on their pans, etc. They wouldn't back ANY automotive additive product claim because of metal/metal contact. Just a heads up on that additive in a product
