FSJeeper! dodge np435 questions

FSJeeper,was that you that said that the dodge 435/203 uses the 23 spline input and circle pattern?

if so,are you %100 sure?

if so,then i may have a new game plan :D

ive located a 1980 dodge granny 4 speed/transfer case on ebay.

the seller says the tranny is model unknown,but definately has a granny 1st.should be np 435,yes? looks like it from the pic,but im not as familiar with it as i am the sm465 or t18.

seller thinks xfer is a 203,and from the pic,he is right smile.gif

depends on location and the cost of shippig if its too far to pick up,but a friend has a pto that should bolt to the 435,and i could run my d300 behind the 435 till i either a) break the tailshaft ;) or b) accumulate the parts to put my 205 behind the range box.

sounds like a good plan to me :D

I'll take this back to the top with a little info. Dodges have the 23 spline output but not sure about the bolt pattern.

1980 was a transition year for them, I believe. They changed from the full time 4x4 to part time, if I remember correctly. If it is an ’80 it should have a 205 attached with a pre-80 having the 203. Check out these sites for more info:

I have a Dodge NP435/NP205 setup in my shop. It is definitely 23 spline and your Dana 300 will definitely bolt up. 79/80 was the transition year for these. I have seen a round bolt pattern 23 spline NP203 Dodge tcase but understand they only made them one or 2 years. 79 and 80. Dodge also made a 23 spline NP208 which would be a significant upgrade for your wimpy Dana 20/300!
