I'm dealing with a 1993 Wrangler 4.0 EFI wiring harness. There's obviously a lot of stuff here that I won't need. I see that the harness for the Hesco or Mopar MPI kit contains significantly less wiring. Does anyone have a schematic for this, which I can use as a guide to trim way the fat from mine?

Ralph - I did my wiring with the original 1993 Wrangler harness. Do you have the power distribution center? I'll be glad to help you .. I can make a wiring diagram of how mine is hooked up if you want.. mine didn't come with the PDC so I had to do a good bit of wiring there

I would appreciate that.

OK - let me know if you have the PDC or not.. if you do have it, do you understand it and is its wiring intact?

What's the PDC (power distribution center)?

In my wiring harness, there are both the 60-pin and diagnostic connectors, and there is a complete box of relays and a big plug that looks to go directly to the firewall. I'd like to get rid of the relay panel and that big plug, so that I can wire the computer directly to switched ignition. Create a "stand alone" situation for the computer, then wire relays for the fuel pump and A/C, and perhaps later a separate relay for an electric fan.

The box of relays is the PDC. I didnt have that box so it took me awhile to figure out the wiring. I used basically this wiring diagram to figure out the relays for the ASD and fuel pump.

Tomorrow, in the daylight, I'll go look at my wiring and give some details .. maybe I can make a digram.

If you look in that diagram, there are only two input power wires you need to use.. the 10A hot in start and run (Wht/Yel to both ASD and fuel pump relays) and the 30A Red/Wht hot at all times.

When you are wiring the relays for ASD and fuel pump, don't deviate from the wiring shown on that diagram.. at first I tried directly grounding the relays as I had always done with headlight and accessory relays - but in this situation, it is best to let the computer control those grounds.

For the starter wiring, I kept my stock fender-mounted starter solenoid. I also used the 258 starter (and 258 flexplate). But, if you are using a 4.0L starter, you should be able to wire it to use the fender starter solenoid by wiring a jumper from the big + cable on it to the little terminal on it that engages the solenoid on the starter.
