Hi folks.
my rear driveshaft is wiggling around at the U joint, in the rear by the differential. How do I fix this so that the U joint is tight again?
Help is appreciated.
Thanks,
Patrick.

Are the bolts tight on the straps that hold the drive shaft to the u-joint? Or is there play in the joint itself? If the straps are tight and there is still play I'd say the u-joint is bad.

Its in the joint itself, do I need to buy a new one? how much are they?

It sounds like you need a new U-joint. I think they're around $5-$10. To R&R the joint, use a vise and some sockets that are slightly smaller than the end caps of the U-joint.
yep...usually about $6 at autozone or your local parts place. easy to replace.
gets rid of annoying "clunks" in driveline. =)

change the front u joint of the rear driveline as well.... if the rear has some slop, the front part has started to take a beating as well..... but you will see it when you pull the driveshaft
had the same problem a few weeks ago..... make sure you have a big vise......

if u aint got a vise, big hammer and some OLd sockets work well too. i say old sockets cause when u are done, the old socets wont be good no more.
